As we recognize Black History Month, we’re proud to highlight a new partnership between VL’s Racial Justice Impact Team and Hustle PHX focused on expanding opportunity for justice-impacted youth in Arizona.

The Hustle PHX Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) kicks off next week, launching a 14-week journey designed to equip justice-impacted young people with the tools to build and sustain their own businesses.

Through this collaboration, VL’s Racial Justice Impact Team will support a group of 13 students by:

  • Integrating leadership development from VL’s Catalyze program into two YEP sessions
  • Co-developing customized content tailored to youth entrepreneurs
  • Providing one-on-one mentorship throughout the program
  • Engaging additional Valley Leadership alumni with specialized expertise to strengthen the experience

The Racial Justice Impact Team is focused on reducing incarceration in Arizona, particularly among Black Arizonans and youth, by addressing root causes and expanding pathways to economic mobility. Entrepreneurship, mentorship, and leadership development are powerful tools in that work.

This partnership reflects what Impact Maker is all about, alumni stepping forward to turn shared values into measurable action.

Leadership doesn’t just respond to challenges. It builds new pathways forward.
